Rock Art

Living here in Flagstaff, Native American Culture is abundant. We are so lucky to have so much history in our backyard. As we romp around random dirt roads all up and down this amazing state of Arizona you really never know what you will stumble upon. Matt and I have come across old rusted cars and truck, unique relics of homesteading, abandoned water wells, grave sites and crosses along with crazy looking feral sheep that have escaped the barbed-wire clutches of the ranchers.

Not surprising we came across Native American pictographs and some petroglyphs. There were a ton. Since there were over 20 tribes that have inhabited this area…its hard to tell who actually made these paintings. Walls and walls of symbolism. It was a treat to see these out in the middle of nowhere.

Art Work

Loving my new art work adventures…and started on a few more pieces on some of my handmade paper yesterday evening…can’t wait for the next snow day to get me to sit down for a moment or two and put the time into it. This one below of my pup Prince is 12 x 12 inches, ink jet print & watercolor…with a bit of a culinary twist?!

The weather has been so nice, climbing a bunch, working on the website a bunch, scanning away on new and forgotten rolls of film…and hopefully working with a model Jinnifer this Saturday on some portraits.  Yep- that’s right- I’m stoked!!
